New Delhi: Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan on Friday released a book, ‘Legislative Drafting,’ edited and revised by Law Secretary T.K. Viswanathan.

In a brief speech, Mr. Justice Balakrishnan said laws should be drafted depending on the needs of the people. He regretted that the recommendations of successive Law Commissions were not being implemented.

The book would be useful to legislation drafters, parliamentarians, administrators and judges, said Mr. Viswanathan.
Case against bank manager
Kanpur: A case has been registered against the manager of the Armapur branch of the UCO bank here for allegedly depositing fake currency notes in the Reserve Bank of India.
The bank had allegedly deposited counterfeit currency worth Rs 48,500 between November 2004 and May 2007 with the regional office of RBI, official sources said.
Of these, 482 notes of 100 rupees denomination and seven notes of 50 rupees denomination were found fake, Regional Officer of RBI, J. B. Bhoria said.
