We
are very sad to inform you that our most respected Bada Bhanteji
Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita passed away on 23-09-2013 at 3:48 AM
peacefully. He had lung infection after stroke in the brain three months
back. During his last hours monks were reciting suttas and meditating
around him whole night and the atmosphere was peaceful.
It
is a greatest loss for us as we miss him in every single issue of
Mahabodhi. We are extremely grateful to him for his selfless teachings
and guidance and everything he has so lovingly gave us. He has left us
with great responsibility and we will carry out this task of taking
forward the Maha Bodhi Society and its activities with the same spirit.
The funeral ceremony will be held on 27-09-2013 at 10 AM
at Mahabodhi Dhammaduta Vihara, Alur, near Bengaluru, where new
meditation center is coming up. It is a great opportunity to take the
last glance and do merits. Please join.
The condolence meeting will start on 6-10-2013 and conclude with merit sharing Punyanumodana on 7-10-2013, at Maha Bodhi Society, Bengaluru at 10:00 AM on both days. You are requested to participate in this program.
