Chinese
manuscripts record the birth place of Bodhidharma as “Kang-zhi”, which
researchers believe to be Kanchipuram of Tami l N a d u , a cynosure of
learning and cultural diffusion during the heyday  of  the Pallavas.

Both
Mahayana and Zen Buddhism have given birth to a vast literary and
philosophical corpus. While Gautama Buddha still represents and
symbolizes the very
fount
of Awakenment  to Asians, Bodhidharma’s sense of sacrifice and single
mindedness of spiritual attainment point to the quintessential form of
inner realisation. That Bodhidharma hailed from Kanchipuram - one of the
spiritual centres of ancient India – is a matterof great pride to
Indians. Bodhidharma taughtKalari art, the unique martial art form of
Southern India, to the Chinese, and this later – it is believed -
evolved into various forms of martial arts in Asia.

Zen Buddhism
brought about revolutionary changes and enlightenment in the culture and
lives of not only those who professed the faith but also the ordinary
peoples in East Asia, especially The subject matter of the present
international conference takes for its topic the life, teachings and
influence of Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk from Tamil Nadu who went to
China during the 6th century C.E. where he established the Chan school
of Buddhism which continues to impact the life styles of the peoples of Asia. The Japanese
worship
Bodhidharma as Dharmazan. It is remarkable that the medieval traders
and Buddhist monks of India served as our true cultural ambassadors
since they carried with them the rich cultural traditions of this country to various parts of Asia.

Along
with their goods and produce, they also plied the Buddha’s message of
love and compassion. This over-arching message of the Buddha served to
bring the peoples of Asia closer than ever before.

One such
spiritual and cultural ambassador was Bodhidharma, a prince of
Kanchipuram, the capital city of the Pallava dynasty. He went to China
in the sixth century C.E. and is reputed to have become the founder of
the Chan/Zen school of Buddhism. The teachings of this great arhat from
the Tamil soil has transformed the life and culture of the peoples in
China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and other countries, and he is venerated as
the first Zu (patriarch) of Zen Buddhism.in China, Japan, Korea,
Vietnam, Tibet and a few other countries. Even in our contemporary
world, the influence of Zen Buddhism has not waned; instead it is
vigorously expanding on a worldwide scale.

To help advance the
study of Indian philosophy and Mahayana Buddhism, we are now in the
process of establishing a Buddhist Study Centre, named after
Bodhidharma, in Kanchipuram. We do hope it would serve as a centre of
study and meditation for Buddhists and scholars from all over the world.

The
cult figure of Bodhidharma and his Zen Buddhism are in vogue elsewhere,
yet they are not sufficiently well known, here, in the land of his
origin. A thorough study of Bodhidharma and his teaching in relation to
his native country becomes indispensible in order to obtain an objective
understanding of this great teacher and philosopher. To fill this gap,
we have decided to organize a two day International Conference on
Bodhidharma in Chennai on 13th and 14th of August 2015.

Invited
scholars from various countries will participate and present papers on
various aspects of Bodhidharma’s activities and his teachings.

Kami berharap itu akan berfungsi sebagai pusat studi dan meditasi bagi umat Buddha dan para sarjana dari seluruh dunia.

Sosok
kultus Bodhidharma dan Zen Buddhisme nya berada dalam mode lain, namun
mereka tidak cukup dikenal, di sini, di tanah asalnya.
Sebuah
studi menyeluruh Bodhidharma dan pengajaran dalam kaitannya dengan
negara asalnya menjadi sangat diperlukan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman
tujuan ini guru besar dan filsuf.

Manoscritti cinesi registrano il luogo di nascita di Bodhidharma come
“Kang-zhi”, che i ricercatori ritengono di essere Kanchipuram del Tamil
Nadu, una stella polare di apprendimento e di diffusione culturale
durante il periodo d’oro Pallavas.

Sia Mahayana e il buddismo zen hanno dato vita a un vasto corpus letterario e filosofico. Mentre
Gautama Buddha rappresenta ancora e simboleggia la veryfount di
Awakenment agli asiatici, il senso di Bodhidharma di sacrificio e
singolo mentale del punto realizzazione spirituale per la forma per
eccellenza di realizzazione interiore.
Che
Bodhidharma salutato da Kanchipuram - uno dei centri spirituali
dell’India antica - Ăš un matterof grande orgoglio per gli indiani.
Bodhidharma taughtKalari l’arte, la forma d’arte marziale unica del
sud dell’India, ai cinesi, e in seguito - si ritiene - si Ăš evoluta in
varie forme di arti marziali in Asia.

Buddismo
Zen ha portato cambiamenti rivoluzionari e l’illuminazione nella
cultura e nella vita non solo di coloro che professavano la fede, ma
anche i popoli ordinarie in Asia orientale, in particolare l’oggetto
della presente conferenza internazionale prende per il suo tema la vita,
gli insegnamenti e l’influenza di
Bodhidharma,
un monaco buddista del Tamil Nadu che andĂČ in Cina durante il CE 6 °
secolo dove ha sede la scuola del Buddismo Chan, che continua a incidere
gli stili di vita dei popoli dell’Asia.
Il Japaneseworship Bodhidharma come Dharmazan. È notevole che i commercianti medievali e monaci buddisti in India
servito come nostri veri ambasciatori culturali in quanto portavano con
sé le ricche tradizioni culturali di questo paese in varie parti
dell’Asia.

Insieme con i loro beni e produrre, ma anche solcavano il messaggio del Buddha di amore e compassione. Questo messaggio onnicomprensiva del Buddha serviva per portare i popoli dell’Asia piĂč vicini che mai.

Uno
di questi l’ambasciatore spirituale e culturale era Bodhidharma, un
principe di Kanchipuram, la capitale della dinastia Pallava.
Egli andĂČ in Cina nel VI secolo dC ed Ăš noto per essere diventato il fondatore della scuola Chan / Zen del Buddismo. Gli
insegnamenti di questo grande Arhat dal terreno Tamil ha trasformato la
vita e la cultura dei popoli in Cina, Giappone, Corea, Vietnam e altri
paesi, ed egli Ăš venerato come il primo Zu (patriarca) di Zen
Buddhism.in Cina, Giappone
, Corea, Vietnam, Tibet e alcuni altri paesi. Anche nel nostro mondo contemporaneo, l’influenza del Buddismo Zen non Ăš scemato; invece Ăš vigorosamente espansione su scala mondiale.

Per
contribuire a far avanzare lo studio della filosofia indiana e
Buddhismo Mahayana, siamo ora in procinto di stabilire un Centro Studi
buddista, che prende il nome Bodhidharma, in Kanchipuram.
Speriamo che sarebbe servito come un centro di studio e di meditazione per i buddisti e gli studiosi di tutto il mondo.

La
figura di culto di Bodhidharma e suo Buddismo Zen sono in voga altrove,
ma non sono sufficientemente conosciuto, qui, nella terra della sua
origine.
Uno
studio approfondito di Bodhidharma e il suo insegnamento in relazione
al suo paese natale diventa indispensabile al fine di ottenere una
comprensione oggettiva di questo grande maestro e filosofo.
Per colmare questa lacuna, abbiamo deciso di organizzare una due
giorni Conferenza Internazionale onBodhidharma a Chennai il 13 e 14
agosto 2015.

Studiosi invitati provenienti da vari paesi parteciperanno e documenti
presenti su vari aspetti delle attivitĂ  di Bodhidharma ei suoi
insegnamenti.

insegnamenti.

    Ăˆ necessario far crescere da soli, ma la mia Dhamma (gli insegnamenti) dovrĂ  potare per farvi fruttuoso.
