BSP to launch first online campaign on Mayawati’s birthday on 15-1-2017
The BSP campaign that is ready to be launched on Ms Mayawati’s 61st
birthday on Sunday is titled “Behenji ko aane do”. A dozen campaign
videos will form the series with themes such as
“Let daughters smile”,
“Make villages prosperous”,
“Dignity of all communities”,
“New light for minorities”,
“Justice for the innocent”,
“Fulfil youth dreams”, and
“Empowerment of women and senior citizens”.
screen-fitted campaign vehicles will telecast these films in rural
areas. With less than a month for the first phase of polling in Uttar
Pradesh, BSP supremo Mayawati has forged ahead of her political
opponents as far as preparations for the Assembly elections are
concerned. The BSP will also highlight the achievements of the
Mayawati-led government from 2007-2012 through short films. The video of
the campaign will be launched simultaneously on Twitter, Facebook,
WhatsApp, YouTube and television channels. BSP candidates have been
given the permission to use the social media for their individual
campaigns as well but without deviating from the party ideology. Ms
Mayawati will be addressing around 60 meetings in various districts in
the coming days. A BSP member said the cadres have also been directed
not to celebrate the day as “Jankalyankari Diwas” by distributing
candies, fruits and quilt to the poor. The EC has allowed the party “to
hold celebrations within the ambit of model code in three constituencies
-Agra south, Bah and Kheragarh”. The reason behind scaling down is the
imposition of the model code of conduct before the upcoming Assembly
polls, as well as DEMONetisation.
