The Maha Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta The Discourse on the Establishing of
Mindfulness) and the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta (The Great Discourse on the
Establishing of Mindfulness) are two of the most important and widely
studied discourses in the Pali Canon of Theravada Buddhism. The former
is also found in the Āgamas of other early schools, and has been
embraced by contemporary Mahayana practitioners such as Thich Nhat Hanh.
These discourses provide a means for practicing mindfulness in a
variety of contexts and potentially continuously. Famously, the Buddha
declares at the beginning of this discourse:
“This is the direct way
[Pāli: ekāyano maggo monks, for the purification of beings, for the
overcoming of sorrow and lamentation, for the extinguishing of suffering
and grief, for walking on the path of truth, for the realization of
nibbāna.
The meditation techniques identified in this sutta can be
practiced individually or successively or in an interwoven
fashion.Comments are required after having watch this video

I really don’t want to irritate anybody with this video but only to awake you about the misery that occurs on our planet.

With this video I want to convince you how important our planet is.
Most of the Dutch citizens seem to care more for the Euro-crisis
nowadays. Reigning leaders in our country don’t care at all about us
being on this planet. It is our job to advocate for a better
environment. We all know how important the earth is, but do we really
care? People are getting a lot of harmful diseases nowadays because the
world is becoming dirtier. We live unhealthy and are destroying our
planet.

I humbly request that you work with us to improve the
environment. There is only one party in the Netherlands that actually
cares about us and the planet. That is PvdD - Partij van de Dieren. It
is up to all of us to give this noble party more influence so they can
take care about us and our wonderful planet.

Many people have
been inspired their idols. One of them is the legendary Michael Jackson
who fought for a better world. Remember the blockbuster We Are the
World, What About Us and Heal the World? The world loves Michael Jackson
- Holland cried when he passed away. He left a beautiful massage for
all of us. The question is: what will we do with it?

For me, a
very important question is what the contribution of my country, the
Netherlands, and it citizens will be for a better world?

By
voting for uncaring, uncharitable leaders we are all responsible of
increasing environmental pollution, violence, poverty, hatred, etc.
Together we can preserve our earth. Day by day we have to learn to love
our planet.

We all should stop taking for granted what our
planet gives us. We must stop destroying ourselves and the earth. In
recent years the Netherlands has chosen political leaders that do not
listen to what the caring people want. All these leaders care about is
their career.

Mark Rutte of the VVD is the lapdog of
Angela Merkel who is only there to defend the Euro. The Euro has been a
big mistake and the only thing Mark Rutte wants to do is not call it a
mistake. He probably aspires to going down in history as the saviour of
the Euro. Wilders is world famous for inciting racial hatred. Minister
Leers of Immigration and Naturalisation has blood on both his hands by
sending refugees back to war zones. And Jan Kees de Jager our Minister
of Finance seems to consume the Euro himself.

It is only the
Euro what matters to the current Dutch leaders. It seems we have
forgotten to love our environment, our planet and our neighbours. The
Partij van de Dieren (PvdD) is the only party in the Netherlands that
pays attention to the planet.

In September there will be another
vote. I do not hope that the Netherlands will remain selfish, but will
vote on the Pvvd. I am not a poet or writer who can beautifully convince
you to see the importance of our planet. I just want to humbly request
you and others to see how important the PvdD contribution is to our
planet.

I sincerely hope that those who are from other parts of
the world will somehow try to find a way to convince the Dutch people
how important our planet is.

Care more for our planet

Vote for PvdD.

§ 18. Leaving His Home

1. Siddharth thought of taking Parivraja at
the handsof Bharadwaja, who had his Ashram at Kapila-vatsu. Accordingly
he rosethe next day and started for the Ashram on his favourite horse
Kanthaka, with his servant Channa walking along.
2. As he came near the Ashram, men and women cameout and thronged the gates to meet him as a newly arrived bridegroom.
3. And when they came up to him, their eyes wideopen in wonder,
they performed their due homage with hands folded likea lotus calyx.
4. Then they stood surrounding him, their mindsoverpowered by
passion, as if they were drinking him in, with their eyesmotionless and
blossoming wide with love.
5. Some of the women verily thought
that he wasKama incarnate, decorated as he was with his brilliant signs
as with connate[?] ornaments.
6. Others thought from his
gentleness and his majestythat it was the moon with its ambrosial beams,
as it were, visibly comedown to the earth.
7. Others, smitten by his beauty, yawned as if toswallow him, and fixing their eyes on each other, softly sighed.
8. Thus the women only looked upon him, simply gazingwith their
eyes. They spoke not, nor did they smile. They surrounded himand stood
aghast, thinking of his decision to take Parivraja.
9. With great difficulty he extricated himself fromthe crowd and entered the gates of the Ashram.
10. Siddharth did not like [=wish] Suddhodana andPrajapati Gautami
to be present to witness his Parivraja. For he knew thatthey would break
down under the weight of grief. But they had already reachedthe Ashram
without letting him know.
11. As he entered the compound of the Ashram, hesaw in the crowd his father and mother.
12. Seeing his parents he first went to them andasked for their
blessing. They were so choked with emotion that they couldhardly say a
word. They wept and wept, held him fast, and bathed him withtheir tears.
13. Channa had tied Kanthaka to a tree in the Ashramand was
standing [by]. Seeing Suddhodana and Prajapati in tears, he toowas
overcome with emotion and was weeping.
14. Separating himself
with great difficulty fromhis parents, Siddharth went to the place where
Channa was standing. Hegave him his dress and his ornaments to take
back home.
15. Then he had his head shaved, as was requiredfor a
Parivrajaka. His cousin Mahanama had brought the clothes appropriatefor
a Parivrajaka, and a begging bowl. Siddharth wore them [=put them on].
16. Having thus prepared himself to enter the lifeof a Parivrajaka,
Siddharth approached Bharadwaja [with a request] to conferon him
Parivraja.
17. Bharadwaja, with the help of his
disciples, performed the necessary ceremonies, and declared Siddharth
Gautama to havebecome a Parivrajaka.
18. Remembering that he had
given a double pledgeto the Sakya Sangh, to take Parivraja and to leave
the Sakya kingdom withoutundue delay, Siddharth Gautama immediately, on
the completion of the Parivrajaceremony, started on his journey.

19. The crowd which had collected in the Ashramwas unusually large.
That was because the circumstances leading to Gautama’sParivraja were so
extraordinary. As the prince stepped out of the Ashram, the crowd also
followed him.
20. He left Kapilavatsu and proceeded in the
directionof the river Anoma. Looking back ,he saw the crowd still
following him.
21. He stopped and addressed them, saying,
“Brothersand sisters, there is no use your following me. I have failed
to settlethe dispute between the Sakyas arid the Koliyas. But if you
create publicopinion in favour of settlement you might succeed. Be,
therefore, so goodas to return.” Hearing his appeal, the crowd started
going back.
22. Suddhodana and Gautami also returned to thepalace.
23. Gautami was unable to bear the sight of therobes and the
ornaments discarded by Siddharth. She had them thrown intoa lotus pool.
24. Siddharth Gautama was only twenty-nine whenhe underwent Parivraja (Renunciation).
25. People admired him and sighed for him; saying,”Here was a Sakya
blessed with high lineage, noble parentage, possessedof considerable
riches, in the bloom of youthful vigour, accomplished inmind and body,
brought up in luxury, who fought his kinsmen for the sakeof maintaining
peace on earth and goodwill towards men.
26. “Here was a Sakya
youth who, when outvoted byhis kinsmen, refused to submit, but preferred
to undergo voluntary punishmentwhich involved the exchange of riches
for poverty, comfort for alms, homefor homelessness. And so he goes,
with none in the world to care for him,and with nothing in the world
which he could claim as his own.
27. “His was an act of supreme
sacrifice willinglymade. His is a brave and a courageous act. There is
no parallel to it inthe history of the world. He deserves to be called a
Sakya Muni or SakyaSinha.”
28. How true were the words of Kisa
Gotami, a Sakyamaiden. When referring to Siddharth Gautama, she said,
“Blessed indeedis the mother, blessed indeed is the father, who has such
a son. Blessedindeed is the wife who has such a husband.”

The sources for the life of Siddhartha Gautama are a variety of
different, and sometimes conflicting, traditional biographies. These
include the Buddhacarita, Lalitavistara Sutra, Mahavastu, and the
Nidanakatha Of these, the Buddhacarit is the earliest full biography, an
epic poem written by the poet Asvaghoṣa in the first century CE. The
Lalitavistara Sutra is the next oldest biography, a
Mahayana/Sarvastivada biography dating to the 3rd century CE. The
Mahavastu from the Mahasaṃghika Lokottaravada tradition is another major
biography, composed incrementally until perhaps the 4th century CE. The
Dharmaguptaka biography of the Buddha is the most exhaustive, and is
entitled the Abhiniṣkramaṇa Sutra, and various Chinese translations of
this date between the 3rd and 6th century CE. The Nidanakatha is from
the Theravada tradition in Sri Lanka and was composed in the 5th century
by Buddhaghoṣa.

From canonical sources, the Jataka tales, the
Mahapadana Sutta (DN 14), and the Achariyabhuta Sutta (MN 123) which
include selective accounts that may be older, but are not full
biographies. The Jatakas retell previous lives of Gautama as a
bodhisattva, and the first collection of these can be dated among the
earliest Buddhist texts. The Mahapadana Sutta and Achariyabhuta Sutta
both recount miraculous events surrounding Gautama’s birth, such as the
bodhisattva’s descent from the Tuṣita Heaven into his mother’s womb.
