Stori’r Cwestiynau a Godwyd gan Sakka (Adnod 354) Wrth breswylio ym
Mynachlog Jetavana, siaradodd y Bwdha yr adnod hon, gan gyfeirio at
bedwar cwestiwn a godwyd gan Sakka, brenin y devas.

Ar un achlysur, mewn cyfarfod o’r devas ym myd Tàvatiüsa, codwyd pedwar cwestiwn, ond methodd y devas â chael yr atebion cywir.

Yn y pen draw, aeth Sakka â’r devas hyn i’r Bwdha ym Mynachlog
Jetavana. Ar ôl egluro eu hanawster, cyflwynodd Sakka y pedwar cwestiwn
canlynol:
(1) Ymhlith anrhegion, pa un yw’r gorau?
(2) Ymhlith chwaeth, pa un yw’r gorau?
(3) Ymhlith hyfrydwch, pa un yw’r gorau?
(4) Pam y dywedir mai dileu chwant yw’r mwyaf rhagorol? I’r cwestiynau
hyn, atebodd y Bwdha, “O’ Sakka, y Dhamma yw’r enwocaf o bob rhodd, y
gorau o bob chwaeth a’r gorau o bob hyfrydwch.

Mae dileu chwant
yn arwain at gyrhaeddiad arahatship ac, felly, yw’r mwyaf o’r holl

Hybarch, os yw rhodd y Dhamma yn rhagori ar yr holl roddion pam na chawn

Dhamma? Rwy’n gweddïo, o hyn ymlaen, y cawn ni gyfran yn rhinwedd

Yna gofynnodd y Bwdha i’r holl fynachod
ymgynnull a’u cymell i rannu teilyngdod eu holl weithredoedd da â phob
bod. Felly, mae wedi dod yn arferiad i wahodd pob bod o’r tri deg un o

This soulful, poignant tune is an adaptation of the masterpiece originally recorded by the internationally adored Shlomy Shabbat, who is reverently known in Israel as “Zamar HaNeshama”, the Soul Singer.

To bring this moving composition to simchos and kumzitzes throughout the United States, Shira selected to collaborate with New York’s very own Zamar HaNeshama, Dudi Knopfler, renowned as a most uplifting, engaging and soulful singer.

Along with brand new Yiddish lyrics that capture the essence of Shlomy Shabbat’s original inspiration, this magical pairing is sure to turn the song into a new kumzitz favorite and elevate every simcha where it is sung—by choir or by crowd.

vastness of the continent, is historically ancient, rich and diverse,
with different regions and nations of Africa having many distinct
musical traditions. Music in Africa is very important when it comes to
religion. Songs and music are used in rituals and religious ceremonies,
to pass down stories from generation to generation, as well as to sing
and dance to. Traditional music in most of the continent is passed down
orally (or aurally) and is not written. In sub-Saharan African music
traditions, it frequently relies on percussion instruments of every
variety, including xylophones, djembes, drums, and tone-producing
instruments such as the mbira or kalimba.Traditional Music Channel is

Kwesinye
isehlakalo, emhlanganweni wama-devas endaweni yaseTàvatiüsa,

Ekugcineni, uSakka wahamba nalawa

(2) Phakathi kokunambitheka, yini ehamba phambili?
(3) Phakathi kokujabulisa, yikuphi okuhle?

“Jiya Jale” (Dil Se) is a tribute to A. R. Rahman by the Berklee Indian
Ensemble in gratitude for his immense contribution to our lives through
his inspiring music and journey.

A. R. Rahman is an Indian
composer, singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and
philanthropist. In 2009, Time Magazine placed Rahman in its list of
World’s Most Influential People. In a notable career spanning two
decades, he has garnered particular acclaim for redefining contemporary
Indian film music, and putting Indian music on the global map, in a way
that no other Indian composer/performer has achieved.

On October
24, 2014, Berklee College of Music will confer A. R. Rahman with an
honorary doctor of music degree. Berklee Faculty and students from the
Berklee Indian Ensemble will pay tribute to the living legend, who will
join them on select pieces in a concert celebrating his music and life
at Boston’s Symphony Hall.

Mr. Rahman’s visit is a signature
event under Berklee India Exchange, a new initiative co-founded by two
Indian Berklee alums, Annette Philip (artistic director), and Clint
Valladares (artist relations and strategy), as a platform for cultural
conversation, through the composition, collaboration, and performance of
original Indian music. Proceeds from the concert will go towards a
scholarship fund in Mr. Rahman’s name for students from India to attend
Berklee.

This is a huge milestone for the Berklee Indian
Ensemble, one of largest and most diverse ensembles at the college, with
members representing 37 countries, and counting. Founded in 2011 by
faculty member, Annette Philip, the ensemble performs an expansive
repertoire of Indian classical, semi-classical, folk, Sufi, and
contemporary Indo-jazz music, with the ultimate goal of presenting
concerts entirely consisting of original student compositions. Every
year, there is at least one composition by A. R. Rahman featured in
their repertoire.

Giving a whole new spin to the term ‘world music’ — A.R.Rahman spins
his magic on an absolute scorcher, featuring Jordanian singer –Farah
Siraj along with Nepalese Buddhist Nun Ani Choying. With the traditional
Nepalese Buddhist hymn forming the base of the song, layered with a
traditional Jordanian melody, and bridged seamlessly with composition
written by A.R.Rahman, this song truly brings together diverse cultures
and musical genres. Everything from the background vocals to Sivamani’s
percussion takes a big leap across musical styles and creates a storm of
inspired rhythms, to give this track that extra flavour. Completely
based around the theme of motherhood, compassion & ultimately
happiness, this is the very first track of what promises to be an
unforgettable Season 3 of CS@MTV!

Lyrics:

Tu Zariya, hun mein zariya (You’re a path, so am I)
Aur uski kirpa, dariya dariya (And His compassion, like an ocean..an ocean)
Hain jo ankhiya nirmal, duniya nirmal (The world is pure, if pure is your vision)
Chalka..chalka, chhal chhal chhal chhal (Brimming o’er, brimming o’er, on and on)

Ho zuba koyeebhi (Whichever language, doesn’t matter)
Bol dil se tu bol (When from the heart, words you utter)
Ya misri si ho (Like sugar maybe)
Ya shahad si ho (Or even like honey)

Anti al umm (You are the mother)
Anti il hayaa (You are the life)
Anti alhob (You are love)
Anti lee aldunya (You are the world to me)
Anti lee aldunya (You are the world to me)

Tu Zariya, hun mein zariya (You’re a path, so am I)
Aur uski kirpa, dariya dariya (And His compassion, like an ocean..an ocean)
Hain jo ankhiya nirmal, duniya nirmal (The world is pure, if pure is your vision)
Chalka..chalka, chhal chhal chhal chhal (Brimming o’er, brimming o’er, on and on)

Reedaha, reedaha (I love her, I love her)
Kefima, reedaha (However it may be, I love her)
Teflatan ya halee (She is a young beauty)
Wil asaal reegaha (In her voice there is honey)

Awakeness Practices

All 84,000 Khandas As Found in the Pali Suttas Traditionally the are
84,000 Dharma Doors - 84,000 ways to get Awakeness. Maybe so; certainly
the Buddha taught a large number of practices that lead to Awakeness.
This web page attempts to catalogue those found in the Pali Suttas (DN,
MN, SN, AN, Ud & Sn 1). There are 3 sections:

The discourses of Buddha are
divided into 84,000, as to separate addresses. The division includes all
that was spoken by Buddha.”I received from Buddha,” said Ananda,
“82,000 Khandas, and  from the priests 2000; these are 84,000 Khandas
maintained by me.” They are divided into 275,250, as to the stanzas of
the original text, and into 361,550, as to the stanzas of the
commentary. All the discourses including both those of Buddha and those
of the commentator, are divided  into 2,547 banawaras, containing
737,000 stanzas, and 29,368,000 separate letters.

Maha-parinibbana Sutta — Last Days of the Buddha

The Great Discourse on the Total Unbinding

This wide-ranging sutta, the
longest one in the Pali canon, describes the events leading up to,
during, and immediately following the death and final release
(parinibbana) of the Buddha. This colorful narrative
contains a wealth of Dhamma teachings, including the Buddha’s final
instructions that defined how Buddhism would be lived and practiced long
after the Buddha’s death — even to this day. But this sutta also
depicts, in simple language, the poignant human drama that unfolds among
the Buddha’s many devoted followers around the time of the death of
their beloved teacher.
