தேடுபவர் புரிந்து கொள்கிறார்
பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒருவர், இந்த பூமியையும், யம உலகத்தையும், தேவர்களையும் புரிந்து கொள்வார், பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒருவர், நன்கு கற்றுத் தரப்படும் தர்மத்தை, திறமையானவர் ஒரு பூவைத் தேர்ந்தெடுப்பதைப் போலப் புரிந்துகொள்வார்.
கிராமத்தில் துறவி
பூவில் தேனீ இருப்பது போல
சாயலையோ அல்லது வாசனையையோ தீங்கு விளைவிப்பதால் அமிர்தத்தை சேகரிக்க முடியாது, பறந்து செல்கிறது, எனவே நகரங்களில் ஒரு ஞானி கட்டணம் செலுத்துகிறார்.
நல்ல வார்த்தைகள் பயிற்சி செய்பவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே லாபம்
ஒரு அழகான மலர் போல
புத்திசாலித்தனமான மற்றும் இனிமையான வாசனை,
செயல்படுபவரின் நன்கு பேசும் வார்த்தைகள் மிகவும் பயனுள்ளதாக இருக்கும்.
இவ்வுலகில் பிறந்தவர்கள் நிறைய புகழைப் பெற வேண்டும்
பூக்கள் நிறை இருந்து போல
பல மாலைகள் செய்யப்படலாம், எனவே ஒரு பிறப்பால் இறந்தவர்
பல நல்ல செயல்களைச் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

பூக்களின் நறுமணம் சந்தனம், லாவெண்டர் மல்லிகை என காற்றோடு அலைகிறது. நல்லொழுக்கத்தின் நறுமணம் காற்றை வீசுகிறது, எல்லாவற்றிலும் நல்ல குணம் உள்ளது.
நல்லொழுக்கத்தின் நறுமணம் மிகவும் இனிமையான வாசனை
சந்தனம் அல்லது லாவெண்டர்,
தாமரை அல்லது மல்லிகை பெரிய,
இந்த பல வாசனை திரவியங்கள்
அறத்தின் நறுமணம் உயர்ந்தது.
அறத்தின் நறுமணம் சொர்க்கத்திற்கு வீசுகிறது
லாவெண்டர் மற்றும் சந்தனத்தின் இந்த நறுமணம் மயக்கம்,
ஆனால் நல்லொழுக்கமுள்ளவர்களின் நறுமணம்
தெய்வங்களுக்கிடையில் உயர்வானது.
அராஹத்களின் பாதையை மரணம் கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியாது
சரியான நல்லொழுக்கம் கொண்டவர்கள்
கவனத்துடன் வாழ்பவர்கள்,
இறுதி அறிவால் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டது
மாரா அவர்களின் பாதையை அறிய முடியாது.
தாமரை குப்பை மேட்டில் இருந்தாலும் கவர்ச்சிகரமானது
நெடுஞ்சாலை ஓரத்தில் ஒரு குழியில் குப்பை கொட்டப்படுகிறது
அங்கே தாமரை மலர்ந்து நறுமணம் வீசுகிறது மற்றும் மனதிற்கு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது.
அராஹத்கள் எங்கிருந்தாலும் பிரகாசிக்கிறார்கள்
எனவே குப்பைகள் மத்தியில்,
சாதாரண மனிதர்கள் பார்வையற்றவர்களாக மாறுகிறார்கள், சரியான புத்தரின் மாணவர் ஞானத்தால் பிரகாசமாக இருக்கிறார்.
புத்திசாலிகளிடமிருந்து லாபம்
சுருக்கமாக ஒரு புத்திசாலி என்றாலும்
அறிவாளிகளுக்காக காத்திருக்கலாம்,
சீக்கிரம் தம்மம் அவன் நாக்கால் சூப்பின் சுவையை உணர முடியும்.
நல்ல செயல்களின் மூலம் மகிழ்ச்சி கிடைக்கும்
ஆனால் அந்த கம்மாவை நன்றாக உருவாக்கியது
இது எந்த வருத்தத்தையும் தராது, அதன் முடிவை ஒருவர் மகிழ்ச்சியான மனதுடன் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் உணர்கிறார்.
விடுதலைக்கான பாதை
ஒன்று உலக ஆதாயத்திற்கான வழி, இன்னொன்று நிப்பாணம். இதைத் தெளிவாகப் புரிந்துகொண்ட பிக்கு, புத்தரைப் பின்பற்றுபவர், தனிமையில் சரணடைவதற்குப் பதிலாக, கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பரிசுகளில் மூழ்கிவிடக்கூடாது.
புத்திசாலிகளின் அறிவுரையை பொக்கிஷமாக வைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்
தவறுகளைச் சுட்டிக் காட்டி, கடிந்துகொள்ளும், மறைந்திருக்கும் பொக்கிஷத்தை அப்பட்டமாகப் போடும் ஞானமுள்ள ஒருவனை, அத்தகைய ஞானியை ஒருவன் சந்திக்க வேண்டுமானால், அத்தகைய ஞானியை ஒருவன் துணையாகச் செய்ய வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு இணைவது செழுமையடைவதே தவிர ஒருபோதும் வீழ்ச்சியடையாது.
நல்லொழுக்கமுள்ளவர்கள் நல்ல அறிவுரைகளை மதிக்கிறார்கள்
அவர் உபதேசிக்கட்டும், அறிவுறுத்தட்டும், ஒருவரை இழிவுபடுத்தாமல் சரிபார்க்கட்டும். உண்மையாகவே அவர் உண்மைக்கு அன்பானவர், அவர் பொய்க்கு அன்பானவர் அல்ல.
நல்லொழுக்கமுள்ள நிறுவனத்தில்
தீய நண்பர்களுடன் சுற்றித் திரியாதீர்கள், முரடர்களுடன் அலையாதீர்கள். உன்னத நண்பர்களுடன் நேரத்தை செலவிடுங்கள், தகுதியானவர்கள் துணையாக இருங்கள்.
தர்மத்தில் மகிழ்ச்சியாக வாழ்வது
தெளிவாகவும் குளிர்ச்சியாகவும் உள்ள இதயத்துடன் தம்மம் அருந்துபவர் மகிழ்ச்சியானவர். மிகவும் புத்திசாலியான ஒருவன் உன்னதத்தால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட தர்மத்தில் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறான்.
புத்திசாலித்தனமான கட்டுப்பாடு தங்களை
நீர்ப்பாசனம் நீரைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துகிறது,
fletchers ஃபேஷன் தண்டுகள்,
இணைப்பாளர்கள் தங்கள் மரத்தை வடிவமைக்கும்போது
புத்திசாலிகள் தங்களை அடக்கிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.
புத்திசாலிகள் உறுதியானவர்கள்
வலிமையான பாறாங்கல் போல
காற்றினால் அசைவதில்லை,
அதனால் ஞானிகள் அசைவதில்லை
பாராட்டு அல்லது பழி மூலம்.
வைஸ் ஆர் ஹேப்பி
ஆழமற்ற ஏரியாக இருந்தாலும்,
மிகவும் அமைதியான மற்றும் தெளிவான ஏரி,
அதனால் தர்மங்கள் கேட்டன
அமைதியான ஞானிகள் ஆக.
ஞானிகள் அமைதியானவர்கள்
நல்லவர்கள் துறக்கும் அனைத்தும், அமைதியான உரையாடல் மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தராது, இன்பமோ துன்பமோ மகிழ்ச்சியோ துன்பமோ ஞானிகளுக்குத் தெரியாது.
ஞானிகள் சரியாக வாழ்கிறார்கள்
ஒருவன் தன் சொந்தத்திற்காகவோ, மற்றவருக்காகவோ குழந்தைகளையோ, செல்வத்தையோ, சொத்துக்களையோ, வெற்றியையோ விரும்பி அநியாயமாக விரும்பக் கூடாது, அப்படியானால் நல்லொழுக்கமும், ஞானமும் உள்ளவன், நீதியுள்ளவனாக இருப்பான்.
ஒரு சிலர் மறு கரையை அடைகின்றனர்
மக்கள் மத்தியில் அவர்கள் மிகக் குறைவு
அடுத்த கரைக்கு செல்பவர்கள்,
மனித இனத்தில் அதிகம்
இந்த கரையில் விரையுங்கள்.
தர்மத்தைப் பின்பற்றுபவர்கள் விடுதலை பெறுகிறார்கள்
ஆனால், தர்மத்தின்படி தர்மத்தை கடைப்பிடிப்பவர்கள், மரணத்தின் களத்தில் இருந்து வெளியேறுவது கடினம்.
ஒழுக்கம் மூலம் விடுதலை
இருண்ட தம்மைக் கைவிட்டு, புத்திசாலிகள் பிரகாசத்தை வளர்த்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும், வீட்டிலிருந்து வீடற்றவர் வரை தனிமையில் அமைதியற்றவர்.
உங்கள் மனதை தூய்மைப்படுத்துங்கள்
இன்பங்களைத் துறந்து அரிய மகிழ்ச்சியை அவர்கள் விரும்பட்டும், அந்த ஞானிகள் மனதின் எல்லா அசுத்தங்களிலிருந்தும் தங்களைத் தூய்மைப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
அராஹத்துகள் உலகத்தன்மைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டவர்கள்
மனதை முழுவதுமாக வளர்த்து, மகிழ்ந்து, பற்றுதலைத் துறந்து, பற்றுக் கொள்ளாமல் விழிப்புக்கு வருபவர்கள், இவ்வுலகில் மாசு இல்லாத, பிரகாசமாக, நிப்பாணத்தை அடைகிறார்கள்.

Just as a bee in a flower
harming neither hue nor scent gathers nectar, flies away, so in towns a Wise One fares.
Good Words Profit Only Those Who Practise
Just as a gorgeous blossom
brilliant and sweet-scented,
so fruitful the well-spoken words of one who acts as well.
Those Born Into This World Must Acquire Much Merit
As from a mass of flowers
many a garland may be made, so by one born mortal
should many good deeds be done.
Fragrance of Virtue Spreads Everywhere
The fragrance of flowers drifts with the wind as sandalwood, jasmine of lavender. The fragrance of virtue o’ersweeps the wind, all pervasive is virtue of the good.
Fragrance Of Virtue Is The Sweetest Smell
Sandalwood or lavender,
lotus or the jasmine great,
of these many fragrances
virtue’s fragrance is supreme.
Fragrance Of Virtue Wafts To Heaven
Faint is this fragrance of lavender and sandalwood,
but fragrance of the virtuous
soars sublime amongst the gods.
Death Cannot Trace The Path Of Arahats
Of those with perfect virtue
who dwell in heedfulness,
freed by Final Knowledge
Mara cannot know their path.
Lotus Is Attractive Though In A Garbage Heap
As beside the highroad where rubbish in a pit is flung
there flourishes the lotus bloom fragrant and the mind’s delight.
Arahats Shine Wherever They Are
So among rubbish-beings,
common humans blind-become, the Perfect Buddha’s pupil outshines with wisdom bright.
Profit From The Wise
Though briefly one intelligent
might wait upon the wise,
quickly Dhamma he can sense as tongue the taste of soup.
Happiness Results From Good Deeds
But well-made is that kamma
which done brings no remorse, of which one senses the result with glad mind and with joy.
Path To Liberation
One is the way to worldly gain, another to Nibbana goes. Clearly comprehending this the bhikkhu, Buddha’s follower should wallow not in proffered gifts, surrendering instead to solitude.
Treasure The Advice Of The Wise
Should one a man of wisdom meet who points out faults and gives reproof, who lays a hidden treasure bare, with such a sage should one consort. Consorting so is one enriched and never in decline.
The Virtuous Cherish Good Advice
Let him exhort, let him instruct, and check one from abasement. Dear indeed is he to the true, not dear is he to the false.
In The Company Of The Virtuous
Don’t go around with evil friends, with rogues do not resort.Spend your time with noble friends, and worthy ones consort.

Happy is he who Dhamma drinks with heart that’s clear and cool. One so wise e’er delights in Dhamma declared by the Noble.

Irrigators govern waters,
fletchers fashion shafts,
as joiners shape their timber
those who are wise tame themselves.
The Wise Are Steadfast
Just as a mighty boulder
stirs not with the wind,
so the wise are never moved
either by praise or blame.
The Wise Are Happy
Even as a fathomless lake,
a lake so calm and clear,
so dhammas having heard
serene the wise become.
The Wise Are Tranquil
Everything the good renounce, the peaceful chatter not of fond delights, and whether touched by pleasure or pain nor joy or woe in the wise is seen.
The Wise Live Correctly
Neither for one’s own, nor for another’s sake one should wish for children, wealth, estate, nor success desire by means unjust, thus virtuous, and wise, righteous one would be.
A Few Reach The Other Shore
Among folk they are few
who go to the Further Shore,
most among humanity
scurry on this hither shore.
Those Who Follow The Dhamma Are Liberated
But they who practise Dhamma according to Dhamma well-told, from Death’s Domain hard to leave they’ll cross to the Further Shore.
Liberation Through Discipline
Abandoning the dhammas dark the wise should cultivate the bright, having from home to homeless gone in solitude unsettling.
Purify Your mind
Let them desire that rare delight renouncing pleasures, owing nought, those wise ones should cleanse themselves from all defilements of the mind.
Arahats Are Beyond Worldliness
Those who come to Wakening with mind full-cultivated, delight, no longer clinging, in relinquishing attachment: they, without pollution, radiant, in this world have reach Nibbana.

ಒಬ್ಬ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದವನು ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು, ಯಮ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಒಬ್ಬ ನುರಿತವನು ಹೂವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಸಿದ ಧಮ್ಮವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿ
ಹೂವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜೇನುನೊಣದಂತೆ
ವರ್ಣ ಅಥವಾ ಪರಿಮಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿಯು ಮಕರಂದವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹಾರಿಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಲಾಭ
ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಬಹುಕಾಂತೀಯ ಹೂವಿನಂತೆ
ಅದ್ಭುತ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಹಿ ಪರಿಮಳಯುಕ್ತ,
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ವರ್ತಿಸುವವನ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಮಾತುಗಳು ತುಂಬಾ ಫಲಪ್ರದವಾಗಿವೆ.
ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅರ್ಹತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು
ಹೂವುಗಳ ಸಮೂಹದಿಂದ
ಅನೇಕ ಮಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದು, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮರ್ತ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಜನಿಸಿದವನಿಂದ
ಅನೇಕ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
ಪುಣ್ಯದ ಸುಗಂಧ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಹರಡಿದೆ
ಹೂವುಗಳ ಸುಗಂಧವು ಗಾಳಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀಗಂಧದ ಮರವಾಗಿ, ಲ್ಯಾವೆಂಡರ್ನ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯಂತೆ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಸದ್ಗುಣದ ಸುಗಂಧವು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿರುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದರ ಗುಣ.
ಸದ್ಗುಣದ ಸುಗಂಧವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಧುರವಾದ ವಾಸನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ
ಶ್ರೀಗಂಧ ಅಥವಾ ಲ್ಯಾವೆಂಡರ್,
ಕಮಲ ಅಥವಾ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ,
ಈ ಅನೇಕ ಸುಗಂಧ
ಸದ್ಗುಣದ ಸುಗಂಧವು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸದ್ಗುಣದ ಸುಗಂಧವು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಡುತ್ತದೆ
ಲ್ಯಾವೆಂಡರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಗಂಧದ ಈ ಸುಗಂಧವು ದುರ್ಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ,
ಆದರೆ ಪುಣ್ಯವಂತರ ಪರಿಮಳ
ದೇವತೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಭವ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲೇರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸಾವು ಅರಹತ್ಗಳ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ
ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ಸದ್ಗುಣ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಲ್ಲಿ
ಯಾರು ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ,
ಅಂತಿಮ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ
ಮಾರನಿಗೆ ಅವರ ದಾರಿ ತಿಳಿಯಲಾರದು.
ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಕಮಲವು ಆಕರ್ಷಕವಾಗಿದೆ
ಹೈರೋಡ್ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಸ ಎಸೆದಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮಲದ ಅರಳಿ ಸುವಾಸನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಅರಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅರಹತರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಹೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಸ-ಜೀವಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ,
ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾನವರು ಕುರುಡರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ಬುದ್ಧನ ಶಿಷ್ಯ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರಿಂದ ಲಾಭ
ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಆದರೂ
ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾಯಬಹುದು,
ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಧಮ್ಮ ಅವರು ಸೂಪ್ನ ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ನಾಲಿಗೆಯಂತೆ ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶಗಳು
ಆದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಆ ಕಮ್ಮ
ಇದು ಯಾವುದೇ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪವನ್ನು ತರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದರ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ವಿಮೋಚನೆಯ ಹಾದಿ
ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಾಪಂಚಿಕ ಲಾಭದ ದಾರಿ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ನಿಬ್ಬಾಣ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಭಿಕ್ಷು, ಬುದ್ಧನ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳು ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡದೆ, ಏಕಾಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಶರಣಾಗಬೇಕು.
