The Abode of Tradition

This is part of ‘ The Hidden Monarch - The Eschatological Dimension’ series.
Maitreya
(Sanskrit), Metteyya (Pali), is regarded as a future Buddha of this
world in Buddhist eschatology. In some Buddhist literature, such as the
Amitabha Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, he is referred to as Ajita.
The
prophecy of the arrival of Maitreya refers to a time in the future when
the dharma will have been forgotten by most on the terrestrial world.
Maitreya is the future Messiah; He is yet to descend to preach the Law at the end of our Kalpa (aeon).
In
the Buddhist tradition, the story of Maitreya, the future Buddha, plays
a central role in the cultural history of virtually every period and
every area of Buddhist Asia.
There is a variety of quite distinctive expressions of the Buddhist tradition.
The
Maitreya legend has provided a symbol rich in possibility for
culturally specific, local elaboration, yet it has also continued
throughout to draw on a group of core themes and aspirations deeply
rooted in the Buddhist culture common to most of Asia.
Every
Buddhist culture has appropriated this appealing figure under many
guises from which Buddhism shaped, and was shaped by a series of
cultural encounters and traditions, reaching across Asia, corresponding
to different manifestations of the cycle for different peoples.
Maitreya’s place as the future Buddha seems to have been established quite early in Buddhist history.
The emergence of the figure of
Maitreya, whose coming would mark the fulfillment of Buddha’s law as well
with the establishment of universal peace and concord made a decisive impact on Buddhist views of the future
By necessity, any study of Maitreya must be as multifaceted as the figure Himself.
The
term Buddhism is derived from the Pali designation Buddha (Sanskrit:
Buddha) given to its founder; it is, however, not so much a name as a
title. Buddha, from the root budh, “to awaken,” means the “Awakened
One”: it is thus a designation applied to one who attains the spiritual
realization likened to an “arousing” or to an “awakening,”
which Prince Siddhartha announced to the Indo-Aryan world.
- Julius Evola -
“The Buddhas who have been, are, and will be, are more
numerous than the grains of sand on the banks of the
The Ganges.”
- Aparimita Dharani -
All past and all future Buddhas teach the same saving
knowledge in the manner best suited to the time and place of
their appearance.

The series of the “Hidden-Monarch - The Lord of the World”
encompass three major aspects that merge into the eschatological dimension.
The first aspect is mostly known as the Advent of the Parousia at the end of the time. The reign of spiritual liberty.
It
is represented by the coming of God Himself, either through the
representation of an Avatara or through different Manifestations;
with
the expectation of Parousia, as a Theophanic descent in our plane of
manifestation. Jesus Christ, Buddha Maitreya, Kalki Avatara, Imam
al-Mahdi, etc.
The
second aspect represents the perpetual Legislators that regent a cycle
of existence, thus maintaining a bridge through the mediation of God and
our world, most commonly through Prophets or the highest initiates.
These Universal Legislators are Melki-Tsedeq, al-Khidr, Menes, Raja-Chakravarti, etc.
The
third aspect which is mainly overlooked comprises the -hidden heroes-
namely the legendary figures who have remained in suspended animation
through the entire course of a cycle until the end of the world; aroused
from their occultation to assume the final role of redeemers.

Arthur, Frederic Barbarossa, Keresapa, Kashyapa, Stephan the Great,

Namo Tassa Bhagavaa Aratto Sammamakambudhassa
Ko
te DasbodhiSatta-Uddesa me Anagatavamsa e rua nga tohutohu mo nga mea e
tika ana kia tutuki nga taangata mena ka tutaki ratou ki a Buddha
Metteyya.
whakamutunga ka ara ake i tenei ao.
I
roto i te DasbodhiSatta-Uddya, [142] e kii ana a Buddha Gocama ki a
Ven. Sariputta, “Kaore nga taangata katoa e kite i taku tinana tinana.
kotahitanga oriya Metteyya. “
Ko
Ko
te Anagatavamsa [144] ka nui ake nga korero. Hei whakatau i te be
belevont kotahi te buddha Metteyya, me kaha te mahi a te tangata (Virya)
kia kaha (Dalha), me te ngakau pakeke (Ubbigga-Manasa). Ka taea e tatou
te toro i te “whakaaro pakeke” te tikanga o te whakaohooho o te
hinengaro, te mohio ranei o te tere (Samvega) e ahu mai ana i te hiahia
kia pai te mahi. Ko te hunga katoa e mahi ana i nga mahi pai, ahakoa ko
Bhikkhus ratou, ko Bhikkhunis, ko Bhikkhunis, ko Bhikkhunis.
bevolent i ara ake ai tetahi buddha metteyya. Ko te Ora Tapu
(Brahma-Cariya) me mahi. Ko nga taonga (Dana) me homai. Ko nga ra
tirohanga (Opsatha) me pupuri tonu. Ko te atawhai aroha (metta) me ata
whakawhanake.
buddha.
————–
Ko
te mahi tika ko te whakawhanaketanga o te morare (Sila) me te kukume
(Samadhi). Ko te matauranga te tikanga o te whakawhanake i te whakaaro
nui (Panna).
tangata pea e noho nui ana, e mau ana i nga ture morare a nga rangatira
e rima me nga waahanga e waru mo nga ra e whaaia ana, engari mena kaore
te tikanga o te whakatau i te waimarie i waenganui i a Buddha ka puta i
waenga i tenei benevolen ko te mea e whai ake nei.
Nga
tauira o nga mahi he e whakahuatia ana e te Ven.
korero, me te poke i nga whakaaro. Ko taua mahinga ko te tikanga o te
whanau i roto i nga whenua o raro, i roto i te ao e whai ake nei, i roto
i te ora heke mai ranei. Mena he tangata e mahi ana i tenei huarahi ka
whakahaeretia kia whanau ake i te ao teitei, ko ta ratau koretake e kii
tautohetohe, he riri, he mauahara; a ka taea e ratou te mate ki nga mate
me nga mate. Ma tenei ka uaua ake te karo i nga mahi e pa ana ki nga ao
o raro.
Ka
taea pea, heoi, kua rite te tangata i tenei ra i nga wa o mua mo te
whakaohooho.
sotapanna. Na, ka kore e taea te mahi i nga mahi ka puta i roto i te
whanau i roto i nga whenua o raro.
Ehara
e whakaarahia ake ana e buddha. I te mutunga ake, ko te mea
Mena
he tangata e nui ana nga kino (parami) kia eke ki te whakaoho i tenei
ao, kaore e taea te mahi, ka taea pea te mahi i te ao i muri mai i te ao
o mua. Mena kaore he tangata e mahi i nga ahuatanga e arahi ana ki te
Ven.
Ko nga tohutohu a Leri Sayāiad mo nga mahi e tika ana kia mahia i roto i
tenei koiora ko te mea e tika ana ma te tangata e mahi ana i te
whakaaroaro mohio. [147] Kia tutuki tetahi i te tekau ma rima nga mahi
pai (carana-dhamma), [148] ara, ko nga mea katoa o Jhanana.
Ko
nga tohu e whitu e whai ake nei ko nga whenua pai e whitu (Saddhamma) i
He
hinengaro.
Ko te mahi i
te mahi he (Ottappa) ano he ara teitei, he whanui te taha o te taone nui
me te tikanga e awangawanga ana te akonga ki te karo i te mahi he, me
te hinengaro.
Ko te noho
nui (bahu-sacca) he rite ki te taonga nui o nga tao me nga hoari.
Ko
enei whenua pai katoa e taea ai e te tangata te whakarere i nga mahi
he, me te whakato i nga mahi he, hei whakarere i te mea he kino, ka
whakawhanake i te kore he. Na ka whanake ia i te reo ma.
