This website
is dedicated to those who wish to understand better the words of the
Buddha by learning the basics of Pali language, but who don’t have much
time available for it. The idea is that if their purpose is merely to
get enabled to read the Pali texts and have a fair feeling of
understanding them, even if that understanding does not cover all the
minute details of grammatical rules, they don’t really need to spend
much time struggling with a discouraging learning of tedious grammatical
theory involving such things as numerous declensions and conjugations.
In
that case, it is enough to limit themselves to simply learn the meaning
of the most important Pali words, because the repeated experience of
reading provides an empirical and intuitive understanding of the most
common sentence structures. They are thus enabled to become autodidacts,
choosing the time, duration, frequency, contents and depth of their own
study.
Their
understanding of the Eternal Glorified Friendly Benevolent
Compassionate AWAKENED ONE Buddha Vacana will become much more precise
as they effortlessly learn and memorize the words and the important
formulae that are fundamental in the Buddha’s teaching, by ways of
regular reading. Their learning and the inspiration they get from it
will grow deeper as their receptivity to the messages of the Teacher
will improve.

Bhavissanti
bhikkhū anāgatam·addhānaṃ, ye te suttantā tathāgata·bhāsitā gambhīrā
gambhīr·atthā lok·uttarā suññata·p·paṭisaṃyuttā, tesu bhaññamānesu na
sussūsissanti na sotaṃ odahissanti na aññā cittaṃ upaṭṭhāpessanti na ca
te dhamme uggahetabbaṃ pariyāpuṇitabbaṃ maññissanti.
In
future time, there will be bhikkhus who will not listen to the
utterance of such discourses which are words of the Tathāgata, profound,
profound in meaning, leading beyond the world, (consistently) connected
with emptiness, they will not lend ear, they will not apply their mind
on knowledge, they will not consider those teachings as to be taken up
and mastered.

Ye
pana te suttantā kavi·katā kāveyyā citta·kkharā citta·byañjanā bāhirakā
sāvaka·bhāsitā, tesu bhaññamānesu sussūsissanti, sotaṃ odahissanti,
aññā cittaṃ upaṭṭhāpessanti, te ca dhamme uggahetabbaṃ pariyāpuṇitabbaṃ
maññissanti.
On
the contrary, they will listen to the utterance of such discourses
which are literary compositions made by poets, witty words, witty
letters, by people from outside, or the words of disciples, they will
lend ear, they will apply their mind on knowledge, they will consider
those teachings as to be taken up and mastered.

Evam·etesaṃ,
bhikkhave, suttantānaṃ tathāgata·bhāsitānaṃ gambhīrānaṃ
gambhīr·atthānaṃ lok·uttarānaṃ suññata·p·paṭisaṃyuttānaṃ antaradhānaṃ
bhavissati.
Thus,
bhikkhus, the discourses which are words of the Tathāgata, profound,
profound in meaning, leading beyond the world, (consistently) connected
with emptiness, will disappear.

Tasmātiha,
bhikkhave, evaṃ sikkhitabbaṃ: ‘ye te suttantā tathāgata·bhāsitā
gambhīrā gambhīr·atthā lok·uttarā suññata·p·paṭisaṃyuttā, tesu
bhaññamānesu sussūsissāma, sotaṃ odahissāma, aññā cittaṃ upaṭṭhāpessāma,
te ca dhamme uggahetabbaṃ pariyāpuṇitabbaṃ maññissāmā’ti. Evañhi vo,
bhikkhave, sikkhitabbanti.
Therefore,
bhikkhus, you should train thus: ‘We will listen to the utterance of
such discourses which are words of the Tathāgata, profound, profound in
meaning, leading beyond the world, (consistently) connected with
emptiness, we will lend ear, we will apply our mind on knowledge, we
will consider those teachings as to be taken up and mastered.’ This is
how, bhikkhus, you should train yourselves.

Verse 50. Look Inwards And Not At Others

Not others’ opposition
nor what they did or failed to do,
but in oneself should be sought
things done, things left undone.

Explanation: Do not find fault with others. Do not worry about
what others do or not do. Rather, look within yourself to find out
what you yourself have done or left undone. Stop doing evil; do good.

    characterized by their deeds. And wisdom is evident in its outcome.

    Characteristics
    “A
    fool is characterized by their deeds; an astute person is characterized
    by their deeds. And wisdom makes behavior beautiful. A fool is known by
    three things. What three? Bad conduct by way of body, speech, and mind.
    These are the three things by which a fool is known.
    An astute person is known by three things. What three? Good conduct by way of body, speech, and mind.
    These are the three things by which an astute person is known.
    So
    you should train like this: ‘We will reject the three things by which a
    fool is known, and we will undertake and follow the three things by
    which an astute person is known.’ That’s how you should train.”

Verse 230. Person Who Is Like Solid Gold



Who’s to blame that one so fine
as gem from Jambu stream?
Even the devas that one praise,
by Brahma too is praised.


Explanation: A person of distinction is beyond blame or praise
and fault finding - like a coin of pure gold - no one can find fault
with such a person. Deities praise him.

Verse 313. Do Merit With Commitment

If there’s aught that should be done
let it be done then steadily,
in truth a slack monastic life
all the more stirs up the dust.

Explanation: If you do an act of merit do it with a sense
of commitment and concern. But, if the practice of monastic life is
casual, instead of reducing the dust, much dust will be smeared.

I
support the views of Sri Satish Jarakiholiji, the president of Manava
Badhutva Vedike ,Karnataka.It reflects his seer commitment to social
transformation and faith in the ideologies of Buddha, Basavanna and
Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar. I salute him because he is not facing
any corrupt and immoral allegations against him and he is continually
engaged himself in removing social enigmas like blind beliefs, practice
of Untouchability and continuously engaged in spreading the gospel of
Freedom, Equality, Justice and Fraternity enshrined in our constitution.
The
word “Hindu” is not a historical word, it is used by some western
writer and indologists to denote the some sections of Indian society as
Hindus. It is a technical term and not religious in nature used in some
government records after 19th century as for as my historical
understanding is concerned.
It
is unfortunate that such intellectual discourses are curbed now a days
and some Communal elements taking disadvantage of the situation
particularly in Karnataka.
Media
is also without any Social concern forgotten its duties to the
constitution and engaged in discouraging freedom of expression.
It
is left to the people to take the truth as truth and untruth as
untruth, moreover the opinion did not any damage to Hindus and
Hinduism.Because no religion cannot survive on the basis of the number
it represents but it depends on quality of the people who practices it.
Sri.Satish Jarakiholiji views on are not new because Vishwa Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar told on those days in 1935 itself
with great pain
“I took birth as Hindu, because it was not in my hands, but I am quite sure that ,I will not die as Hindu ”
Babasaheb exposed Hinduism and said that Hinduism is nothing but Brahminism.
It is not a religion at all because it discards freedom, equality, justice and Fraternity.
It is set of social rules prepared by Manu ,and having sanction of Vedas .
How can I respect a Hindu I A S ,Hindu Manrti ,Hindu Friend who are against social justice and lacks humanity.
It
is unfortunate that some Lingayath politicians are also calling
themselves as Hindus and in turn demanding reservations for their caste.
Why? ,if they have good and comfortable position and had equal share,
what is the necessity of seeking reservations.It means that in Hindu
social order your caste is suffering and denied of justice.
That
is why we must be careful in these understandings ,otherwise the
illiterate mass especially sc ,sts are going to suffer in this Hindu
politics.
I
am not supporting Sri Satish Jarakiholiji for, not that he belongs to
some political parties but he supported SC. ST officers for implementing
reservation roaster policies in the education department in which I am
suffering due to ill will actions of “Bad Hindus “,because, I too
fallow and profess the ideologies of Buddha, Basavanna and Dr Babasaheb
Ambedkar.
Because, I believe in the principles of Saint poet Kuvempu .
