Origin of name
The word Jambudvipa literally refers to “the land of Jambu trees” where Jambu is the name of the species Syzygium cumini and dvipa means “island” or “continent”.
Jamun tree has following names in different languages:

In Buddhism
The Buddhist cosmology divides the bhūmaṇḍala (circle of the earth) into three separate levels: Kāmadhātu (Desire realm), Rūpadhātu (Form realm), and Ārūpyadhātu (Formless realm). In the Kāmadhātu is located Mount Sumeru which is said to be surrounded by four island-continents. “The southernmost island is called Jambudvīpa”. The other three continents of Buddhist accounts around Sumeru are not accessible to humans from Jambudvīpa. Jambudvīpa is shaped like a triangle with a blunted point facing south. In its center is a gigantic Jamun tree from which the continent takes its name, meaning “Jambu Island”.
Jambudipa, one of the four Mahādīpas，or great continents，which are included in the Cakkavāla and are ruled by a Cakkavatti．They are grouped round Mount Sumeru．In Jambudīpa is Himavā with its eighty-four thousand peaks，its lakes，mountain ranges，etc.．
This continent derives its name from the Jamun tree（also called Naga） which grows there，its trunk fifteen yojanas in girth，its outspreading branches fifty yojanas in length，its shade one hundred yojanas in extent and its height one hundred yojanas （Vin．i．30； SNA．ii．443； Vsm．i．205f； Sp．i．119，etc.．）．On account of this tree，Jambudīpa is also known as Jambusanda （SN．vs．552； SNA．i．121）．The continent is ten thousand yojanas in extent； of these ten thousand，four thousand are covered by the ocean，three thousand by the Himālaya mountains，while three thousand are inhabited by men （SNA．ii．437； UdA．300）．
Jambudvīpa is the region where the humans live and is the only place where a being may become enlightened by being born as a human being. It is in Jambudvīpa that one may receive the gift of Dharma and come to understand the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path and ultimately realize the liberation from the cycle of life and death.

An inscription is engraved on the pillar. Gotama Buddha was born here according to both the inscription and the predominant narrative.
Nevertheless, this Asoka Pillar was discovered by archaeologist Anton Führer. Führer was later fired after he acknowledged committing many plagiarisms. Ashoka pillar he discovered was most likely a fake.
Buddhists all over the world visit a temple complex known as “Bodh Gaya.”. They hope to find the exact spot where Gotama Buddha attained enlightenment.
When examined closely, it becomes apparent that Bodh Gaya is either a Hindu or Jain temple. The tall Shikhara
gives it away.
This entire area is a Hollywood movie set that deceives thousands of innocent pilgrims every day.

The editorial comment on p.289 mentions the following. “This is the well-known island of Ceylon, both direction and distance are extremely correct”.
The rest of the story will reveal how the true origins of both the Gotama Buddha and Ravana
was concealed from the world. Ravana is mentioned the Hindu epic The Ramayanaya.
Gotama Buddha was a Tathāgata
whilst Ravana a Cakkavatti
. Both are equally gifted individuals. The former becomes a spiritual leader whilst the latter becomes a political leader.
The Tathāgata and Cakkavatti are recurring phenomena and always born in one location.

. Alexander Cunningham was a military officer before being appointed as the Archaeological Surveyor of British India.
Alexander Cunningham declares various locations towards the north of India as historical Buddhist sites. Although the information and various artefacts are handed over to a Sri Lankan recruit Anagarika Dharmapala who does the rest of the leg-work.
A book titled “A history of Ceylon, for schools” with the revised history is released in 1900. The book written by Louis Edmund Blaze becomes part of the curriculum taught to Sri Lankan children.

The people of the island would have protested the first few years. Anagarika Dharmapala who was used for propagating the flawed history among Sri Lankans is rejected so much so he retires to India where he spends the rest of his life.
Although this was a British administration. The education, history and archeology are completely turned around to imply the revised history over time.
The following is written about Rhys Davids. Rhys Davids translates the Buddhist canon to English,
Rhys Davids attempted to promote Theravada Buddhism
and Pāli scholarship in Britain.
He actively lobbied the government (in co-operation with the Asiatic Society of Great Britain) to expand funding for the study of Indian languages and literature, using numerous arguments over how this might strengthen the British hold on India.
He gave “Historical Lectures” and wrote papers advancing a racial theory of a common “Aryan
” ethnicity amongst the peoples of Britain, Sri Lanka, and the Buddha’s own clan in ancient times.
These were comparable to the racial theories of Max Müller
, but were used to a different purpose. Rhys Davids claimed that Britons had a natural, “racial” affinity with Buddhist doctrine. This part of Rhys Davids’ career is controversial. (Source

Rhys Davids changes where Buddha lived to northern parts of India when he writes the translation.
George Turner, a British civil servant translates a historical chronicle known as the The Mahavamsa
. He releases a copy after removing 3 chapters connecting the Gotama Buddha to the island.
James Legge
translates Classical Chinese texts indicating the revised history. The Chinese place names clearly indicate an island
.
The historical Buddha is completely erased from the grounds where he used to live. For example, the demography of the North-Eastern regions where the Gotama Buddha lived has been disfigured to hide its history.
Over 6000 ancient manuscripts along with the original Buddhist Pali canon written in Sri Lanka have been taken to England
. The manuscripts were taken home to England by George Turner and Hugh Nevill of the British Civil Service.
The manuscripts were taken after making a payment to a temple caretaker. Some books may have been distributed or sold en route. Some books could be hidden from public view. Whatever the case, only a fraction of what was taken remains.
A collection with the remainder of books are part of the Oldenburg and Hugh Neville collections. These documents emphatically prove Buddha was born in Sri Lanka.

The organisers are appointed by the President of Sri Lanka. They are stuck in limbo unable to obtain the Tipitaka held at the British Museum.
How is the entire world deceived?
Historical records of India, China and other places still refer to the home of Gotama Buddha as “Jambudipa”.
However, the modern interpretation has been changed gradually since the 1890s using the reach and the influence of the British.
Treaty Obligations
Sri Lanka was administered under a treaty unlike most other countries in the Commonwealth.
The agreement between the island’s Chiefs and the British Crown is as follows.
The religion of Buddhism is declared inviolable and its rights to be maintained and protected.

Although the Buddhist history has been distorted. The core religious manuscripts have been taken from the people of the island in violation of the treaty.
The manuscripts are held by an entity independent of the UK government it seems. Regardless, a higher authority, the crown itself is responsible for honouring the treaty.
Major Errors in the Translation of the Tipitaka
The English translation of the Tipitaka is used by millions of people around the world.
The primary source used to produce the English translation is the Tipitaka taken from Sri Lanka.
North India is used as the background for the translation along with Sanskrit. The wrong country of origin introduces a large number of errors.
Furthermore, the Buddha himself admonishes against associating the teaching with Sanskrit.
Sanskrit when spoken produces tones that pleases the ear. This intoxicates and shifts the focus when the goal is escaping.
Rhys Davids dabbles in Sanskrit before translating the Pali canon. More than 60% of the translation is influenced by Sanskrit words as a consequence.
The school kids in Sri Lanka learn Buddhism using a Tipitaka translation known as the Buddha Jayanthi. The Buddha Jayanthi is derived from the English translation
along with all the flaws.
Generations of Sinhala children have been taught the Buddha was an Indian when he was in fact a Sinhala person just like them.
There is an established doctrinal rule that advises against word-to-word translation into any other language in order to prevent this exact problem.
The Tipitaka written more than 1000 years ago was never translated into other languages until it was translated into English violating doctrinal rules.
