India’s communists and several other regional parties have come together to launch a “third front” in the country’s politics.
The group is meant to be an alternative to the Congress and the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - the two main players in the forthcoming
elections.
General elections in India will be held in five phases over April and May.
Polling to elect a new Lok Sabha (lower house) will run from 16 April to 13 May. Counting is due on 16 May.
Nearly four million officials will conduct the elections and 714 million voters are eligible to cast ballots.
The incumbent Congress party-led coalition and parties led by the Hindu nationalist BJP are the main contenders for power.
‘Failed’
The “third front” was launched at a massive rally in the town of Tumkur in the southern state of Karnataka.
Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, the driving force behind
the new group, called upon the people to vote for a “democratic and
secular” government in the elections.
Speakers at the rally said both the Congress and the BJP-led alliances had failed to address people’s grievances.
“This is a historic get-together of all democratic, secular and
Left parties in the country to declare that we are all coming together
to constitute a third force in this country,” Prakash Karat, leader of
the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), was quoted as saying by
private television channel Zee news.
“Today we have come together because the country needs a new alternative.”
The launch was attended by senior leaders from Janata Dal
(Secular) party, CPI(M), Communist Party of India (CPI), Revolutionary
Socialist Party (RSP), Forward Bloc (FB), Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
Ms J Jayalalitha (leader of Tamil Nadu state’s opposition
AIADMK party) and Ms Mayawati (the low-caste Dalit chief minister of
northern Uttar Pradesh state and leader of Bahujan Samaj Party) were
represented by their emissaries at the gathering.
Ms Mayawati has openly talked about her ambition to be prime minister.
Analysts say the big electoral battle will be between the
Congress-led coalition which currently governs India, and the main
opposition alliance led by BJP.
But in the last few years, the influence of smaller regional parties has been consistently growing.
Observers say the two main parties realise that going it aloneBJD has agreed to join front, claims Gowda
Political situation in country is “fluid”
BANGALORE: The third front, a coalition of the Left parties, the
Janata Dal (Secular), the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Telangana
Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam
(AIADMK), received a shot in the arm with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)
supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati deciding to send a
representative to attend the front’s formal launch at Dobbespet, near
Bangalore, on Thursday.
JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda told The Hindu that Ms. Mayawati had agreed to send Satish Mishra, MP, to attend the launch.
Ms. Mayawati decided to depute Mr. Mishra, considered to be the
architect of the BSP’s social engineering in Uttar Pradesh, after Mr.
Gowda spoke to her over telephone. The BSP’s decision to share the
platform with the third front assumes immense political significance in
the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
Mr. Gowda also claimed that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which has
parted ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Orissa, had also agreed
to become a part of the third front. However, the BJD was unable to
participate in the launch in view of certain developments in
Bhubaneswar after Chief Minister Biju Patnaik won the confidence vote.
Mr. Gowda said the political situation in the country was “fluid.”
“But I do not wish to speculate on how many more parties will become
part of the third front in the run-up to the elections,” he said.
Leaders, including Communist Party of India (Marxist) general
secretary Prakash Karat, Communist Party of India general secretary
A.B. Bardhan, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and TRS president
Chandrashekar Rao, will be participating in the rally. Representatives
of the Republican Party of India and the Forward Bloc are also expected
to attend the function.
JD(S) spokesperson Y.S.V. Datta said AIADMK general secretary and
former Tamil Nadu Chief MinisterJayalalithaa had written a letter to
Mr. Gowda stating that she would depute party’s Rajya Sabha member Dr.
Maithreyan for the convention.

In
the late 1960s, a little girl and her family set out from a Delhi
shanty town to visit her grandparents in a distant village. It was a
long journey, and her parents began to chat to other passengers on the
bus. When they revealed their destination was the chamar mohalla – the
area usually found on the outskirts of a village and inhabited by those Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath – the bus fell
silent.
More
than 40 years later, that little girl, known simply as Mayawati, is a
political hero Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath throughout the
country. She is a Aboriginal Inhabitant of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath , a member of the caste known historically as
“SC/STs”. And Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath in the state of Uttar Pradesh hurry in their Millions to her rallies, where she tells them how proud she is to have
been born into a Aboriginal Inhabitant of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath family. “I am the daughter of a Chamar [a Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath ]. I am a Chamar. I am yours.” In May 2007, she became chief
minister of Uttar Pradesh for the fourth time. On taking the oath of
office, she declared that “nobody can stop me from becoming prime
minister”. We shall find out soon enough that she is right: Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath goes to
the polls in a general election in April and May this year.
Many
foresee her as the next Prime Minister. The BSP chief and Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Mayawati is keeping her cards close to her chest.
Has
not committed any poll deals with any party. But she will get a lion’s share of the 80 seats in Uttar
Pradesh. Earlier, and a total of 273 from the entire Nation.
LS polls a prestige issue, says Mayawati
After
watching the grand success of Mr. Barack Obama almost everyone wondered
how a black can become President of most powerful nation in world? Most
importantly Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath started taking afresh dream which they are
hoping to come true via Behan Mayawati. Behind the success story of
Obama there is long story of using all the resources those can be used
for effective campaigning, are we ready for all this?
Here is a detail of Obama’s campaign:

There is no wonder if we ( Aboriginal Inhabitants of Jambudvipa, that is, the Great Prabuddha Bharath-Bahujans) those who want to see
Behan-Mayawati as next Prime Minister doing enough for this?
Coming elections is a great opportunity for all of us to bring change
in India.
Few
days ago news appeared “National Boot Lickers Front” will support Mr. Mothers Flesh Eater as next PM. The founder of Bahujan Samaj Party,
Babu Kanshi Ram had said in his book named “Chamcha Jug”. He had said “Hit the hand those operates the Chamchas.”
Kanshi Ram has further advised us not to hit the Chamcha’s but hit the
hands those operate such Chamchas (Congress operate) as there is
endless list of Chamcha’s in our Samaj. If we’ll hit one of the Chamcha
they’ll pick up next & next. But if we’ll hit the hands those pick
such Chamcha’s they won’t dare to pick further! These Chamchas are their Mother’s flesh eaters, who are mobile grave yards who are trying to take the caravan in the reverse direction with the help of their congress operators and and their VIEWS Papers and Media.
For now our main concern should be how to capture political power in the coming elections.
