Compare: 1. Declension
– ending between masculine
and neuter gender
Generally, a given noun is either
masculine, feminine, or neuter. It will not be masculine in one context, and
feminine in another context. There are some exceptions.
A neuter plural subject may have a
singular verb. There is an exception to the rule requiring that the subject
and verb agree in number. This is it.
A Declension is an inflection pattern
for nouns and adjectives. Verbs are conjugated, nouns are declined.
The 2nd declension is often
introduced first because it is the easiest to learn. Most 2nd declension nouns
are masculine or neuter.
2, Conjunction –
ending between present
and future tense.
Conjunction — A word used to join other words or phrases together into
Present tense — The form of language used to refer to an event,
transaction, or occurrence which is happening now (or at the present time), or
an object that currently exists
First-future tense — The first-future tense is that which expresses
what will take place hereafter.

What is the sacred text (Holy Book) of Buddhists?
The sacred book of
Buddhism is called the Tripitaka (called Tipitaka in Pali). It is also called
the Pali Canon, after the language in which it was first written.
It is written in an ancient Indian language called Pali which
is very close to the language that the Buddha himself spoke. The Tripitaka is a
very large book. The English translation of it takes up nearly forty volumes.
Buddhism is based on Buddha’s teachings. At first these were
passed down by word of mouth and later were complied into two sets of
scripture. One set by Council of Monks of the Theravada school (the Tripitaka)
the other by the Mahayana school ( the Sutras). Both were similar.
Both Theravada and Mahayana Buddhists generally accept the
Tripitaka (called Tipitaka in Pali) as the Buddhist sacred writings.
The three section of the Tripitaka (three baskets of Wisdom)
Parts of the Tripitaka such as the Dhamma-pada and the
Sutta-Nipata are among the most expressive religious books in the world.

Dear brothers and sisters in the Sangha,
NEW DELHI - Bucking the global recessionary trends in the media,
India, the world’s most populous democracy, boasts of 74,000 newspapers
- with Uttar Pradesh leading the rest of the country in promoting a
diversity of views.
“More than 74,000 newspapers are registered with the Registrar of
Newspapers for India (RNI),” Minister of State for Information and
Broadcasting Mohan Jatua said in a written reply during question hour
in the Lok Sabha Tuesday.
Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of registered newspapers at
11,789, followed by Delhi with 10,066 and Maharashtra with 9,127,
according to the information given by the minister.
The government is also trying to bridge the “media gap” by
encouraging more newspapers to come up in the northeastern states, the
information and broadcasting ministry said in a separate statement.
The ministry has also relaxed norms for empanelling newspapers published in the northeastern states and the border areas.
This apart, Rs.87.95 crore has been allocated during fiscal 2009-10
for the North East Special Package, the statement said, adding: “An
amount of Rs.37.00 crore is to be provided as grants-in-aid and an
amount of Rs.50.95 crore as loan to Prasar Bharati for improving radio
and television facility in the North East.”
Members of her Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) stormed into the well of
parliament’s both houses – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha - to nosily

India has an elaborate government security apparatus. The National
Security Guard (SPG) was set up in 1984 for anti-hijack and
anti-terror operations. It has two wings–the Special Action Group
(SAG), comprising army personnel on deputation, and the Special Rangers
Group (SRG), comprising personnel from the Indo Tibetan Border Police
(ITBP), the Central Industrial Security Force( CISF), the Central
Reserve Police Force(CRPF) and the Border Security Force (BSF). More
than half of SRG has been diverted to VIP security.
VIP security is subdivided into five tiers — SPG for those at the
top of the heap, followed by the Z-plus, Z, Y and X categories. Z-plus
security is provided by NSG `black cats’ consisting of six personal
security officers, two head constables, 12 constables, one escort and
one pilot vehicle. Thirty politicians like L K Advani, Mayawati,
Narendra Modi and Jayalalithaa are provided this cover. The pyramid
gets wider at the lower level of security — 68 VIPs get Z category
protection, 243 get Y category and 81 X category.
This is in addition to the Special Protection Group (SPG) that is
exclusively meant for providing security to the PM, former PMs and
members of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Interestingly, the SPG budget for
2008-09 is Rs 180 crore, up from Rs 117 crore the previous year, while
the 2008-09 budget for NSG, which is meant to protect over a billion
people from terror, is Rs 158 crore, down from Rs 159 crore the
previous year. It’s not only the SPG and NSG that protect our leaders.
Every state diverts a sizeable number of policemen for VIP security. In
Delhi, where the number of self-important politicians is highest, as
many as 14,200 policemen have been deployed on round-the-clock VIP
Even former home minister Shivraj Patil, who one report described
as “facing no threat, not even from a fly”, enjoys elaborate security
that is extended to his family members as well.
There is also another aspect of private security involving the life
and property of captains of industry. Because of thereat to the life
of general public and public property emanating from terrorism, the
general security industry is flourishing in India. It is estimated that
private security in India will become a Rs 50,000 crore ( About 1200
million US dollars) industry by 2012 as corporates have increased
their spending on safeguards after the Mumbai terror strikes. According
to the Association of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(Assocham), corporate houses would raise their security budgets by
35-40 per cent. The private security business, a Rs 22,000 crore
industry now, would touch Rs 50,000 crore as security all of a sudden
has become top priority for Indian Inc. The industry, which has been
growing at 25 per cent over the past 5-7 years, would achieve a growth
rate of 125 per cent by 2012.
Since a lot of industrial expansion, especially in the
infrastructure sector, would take place during the current Five-Year
Plan, the cost of security gadgets that need to be imported will work
out to Rs 20,000 crore in the next two years. Assocham also says the
demand for security gadgets has also increased in educational
institutions, hospitals, shopping malls and business centres.
It is expected that over 200,000 security professionals would be
required in industrial installations in the next few years as no
industrial house henceforth can afford to take security lightly, says
Assocham General Secretary D S Rawat. “Foreign security companies have
also started assessing Indian markets for sale of gadgets,” he said
adding the government should cut import duty on security gadgets by
about 50 per cent.
