Bhante blessed Ms Mayawati for her progress in her path and all the
Monks chanted Mangala Sutta for her and all the members for their
welfare, peace and happiness.
BSP supremo Mayawati on Thursday charged the BJP-led central government with ‘implementing the Hindutva agenda of the RSS’ and ‘neglecting the common people and minority communities’.
“… the central government is not working in the interest of the
common people but is implementing the hindutva agenda of its main
organisation RSS and is
also benefitting the capitalists… SC/STs, backwards and religious
minorities are being neglected”, Mayawati told newspersons.
In an oblique reference to PM Narendra Modi having
‘khichdi-dahi-chura’ at Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s house on Makar
Sankranti on Wednesday, Mayawati said Modi is following in the
footsteps of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi but that would not influence the Dalits.
“Like the Congress yuvraj, Prime Minister Modi is visiting the dalits
and having ‘khichdi-chura’… but Dalits would not be influenced by all
this”, the Bahujan Samaj Party
president said. Mayawati, who is celebrating her 59th birthday today,
also downplayed BJP’s charges that the her party, which failed to win a
single seat during last year’s Lok Sabha elections, has been wiped out
with the dalit vote bank parting ways with the BSP.
Presenting figures, she claimed that her party’s core SC/ST vote bank withstood BSP
even in the wake of Modi wave and said there has been no decline in it.
Mayawati in her address said, “We supported the UPA for keeping the
communal parties away,” and added that her party and those supporting
the UPA had to bear the brunt of Congress’ shortcomings in the elections
whose benefits were reaped by the BJP.
Also, slamming the central government for hike in excise duty of
petrol and diesel, the BSP chief demanded that the hike be either
‘rolled back’ or the profits be used to ‘address problems of the poor
and unemployed’.
Centre doing work only for RSS, industrialists: Mayawati
Thursday,
January 15, 2015, Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati today
hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the NDA
government was doing work for some of their ‘industrial friends’ and RSS
on communal agenda while the entire country is facing miseries.
Addressing a press conference here on occasion of her 59th birthday
celebrations which was telecast live to all over the state where the BSP
workers are organising function, Ms Mayawati said now the BJP has
started giving fake promises in the Delhi assembly elections too.
“BJP and Aam Admi Party (AAP), both are promoters of privatisation as
Dalits and backwards don’t get reservations in the jobs so both the
parties should be opposed in the Delhi polls,” she said.
“The Centre was just bringing ordinances and orders to benefit the
industrialists and the capitalists friends of the BJP,” she said while
giving the reference of the decreasing prices of petroleum at the
international market.”
The government did not decrease the price of the petroleum products
in the retail market even after the international prices have gone down
to half the rate which proves that they are not interested in giving the
people any respite,” she claimed.
The government was also working on the communal agenda of the RSS
and other Hindu organisation just to communalise the society, she said.
Admitting that supporting the UPA government at the Centre was the
reason behind the party’s debacle in the Lok Sabha elections, Ms
Mayawati said,”we had supported the UPA to prevent the communal party to
come to power but in the 2014 polls people rejected us along with other
parties.”
However, Ms Mayawati contradicted the claim of the BJP that BSP has lost its ground in the last Lok Sabha polls.
“In 2009 Lok Sabha elections,BSP got 1.52 crore votes in UP and in
2014 it increased to 1.60 crore. In 2014 elections BSP got 2.30 crores
votes in the country and thus was the third party after BJP and Congress
to get such large number of votes,” she claimed.

Lucknow, Jan 15 (IANS) Former Uttar Pradesh chief
minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday
attacked the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of being anti-SC/STs.
At a press conference here on her 59th birthday, she
said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has disappointed the
nation so far.
She also announced that her party
would contest the Delhi assembly polls from all the 70 seats, and
alleged that the BJP is using all tactics to lure SC/STs.
“The BJP is trying to breach the SC/ST votes by offering various things,” Mayawati said, adding her party
has been pressing for reservations in private jobs but the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) has been opposing it.
The BSP chief said if the BJP won the Delhi elections, the reservation movement would take a back seat.
She accused Aam Aadmi Party chief
Arvind Kejriwal of being more anti-SC/ST than the BJP and said the
former Delhi chief minister was being driven by anti-SC/ST mindset.
